Dover, in the county of Kent in southeast England, has understandably been one of the most important ports of entry to the country for centuries, given its location on the English Channel across from France. The famous White Cliffs of Dover greet you as you arrive, and the city has a number of historic sights, including a medieval castle.

Reykjavik is your gateway to some of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders, which range from fields of ice to the boiling thermal pools you can find alongside lava fields. In a modern, cosmopolitan city like Reykjavik, with some of the most sophisticated technology in the world, it’s easy to forget there’s serious history afoot, so check out the stories of the Vikings who once — like you — sailed Iceland, at one of the city’s many museums.

Zeebrugge (Brussels), Belgium

Zeebrugge offers plenty of adventure choices for your Belgium visit. Nearby Brussels is a great option, with two very different areas rolled into one city that offers something for everyone. Old Brussels is a historic region that celebrates the ancient – amazing architecture, a Royal District, and majestic cathedrals that are rich in both history and beauty.

Rotterdam, Netherlands

Visit the notable Dutch-style houses in Delfshaven, a small and preserved inner city harbor in Rotterdam, and the place where pilgrims set sail in 1620. Learn of the rich history there at the many antique shops, the Museum Rotterdam, and the well-known Pilgrim Fathers Church. Travel less than 10 miles to the neighboring city of Kinderdijk, where you’ll have the pleasure of seeing original windmills from the 1500’s – 19 of them, in fact. One of them is open to visitors and many are still functional. A UNESCO site since 1997, the beautiful windmills are lit at night in September, which is called “mills in floodlight” – and makes for a great photo opportunity. Or take a short train ride to Lisse and take in the sights of Keukenhof, the world's largest flower garden.

Amsterdam, Nethelands

Enjoy a relaxing chance to discover Amsterdam and its beautiful canals. The canal boat is the perfect way of getting around in Amsterdam with its wealth of waterways.  The Amsterdam Lookout Tower is the best way to fully explore the city of Amsterdam, thanks to the panoramic views it offers. The spectacular elevator takes you to the 360° sky deck in only 22 seconds! If you’re more into climbing, you can take an additional 60 steps to reach the highest lookout point of the tower. From the sky-deck you will be able to see all parts of Amsterdam, including the historical center, the dynamic ports and the unique landscape. Thanks to the permanent interactive exhibition, you can also learn a bit more about the history and culture of Amsterdam. After exploring Amsterdam's skyline, your coach will take you back to the ship in Ijmuiden.

Gothenburg, Sweden

Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden, but comes in first when you're looking at the biggest seaports across of all the Nordic countries. Located on the west coast, at the mouth of the Göta älv river, Gothenburg features a great assortment of elegance — everything from castles to canals to stylish buildings. 

Copenhagen, Denmark
